The Red Sox visited the Rays at Charlotte Sports Park on Tuesday in what has become an AL-East rivalry over the past several years. However, the atmosphere was much calmer, as is the case with many Spring Training ballgames, no matter the teams involved.
While the game ended up being a blowout in favor of the visitors, both the Tampa and Boston fans were in good spirits. However, with the start of the 2018 MLB season quickly approaching, the atmosphere is expected to change for the regular-season games between these two.
It just so happens that the Rays’ home opener is against the Boston Red Sox on March 29. With the Rays and their fans back in Tropicana Field for the start of the season against a rival, the atmosphere will certainly be electric. The Rays will want to get off to a good start against the Sox, as Boston has won the AL East two seasons in a row.
