Spring Training #GrapefruitGators
The New York Yankees visited the Boston Red Sox today at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers, Florida. The legendary teams finished the day in a 3-3 tie, and a game that only lasted two hours and 50 minutes.
The crowd was packed, 9,950 fans, to watch new names and prospects play in their respective uniforms.

Action in the 4th
The first few innings had no runs to home but the players slowly gained momentum to lead to an exciting fourth inning.
At the top of the fourth, Andres Chaparro hit a deep single left, leaving Isiah Kiner-Falefa a winning run home. The Yankees had the first points on the board. Jake Bauers followed Chaparro and hit to left, leaving Billy McKinney to run home. The Yankees are up 2-0.
The Red Sox responded in the bottom of the fourth with Greg Allen at bat. Allen sent his pitch flying down the center to score Reese McGuire home and secure third himself. Allen ran home after the catcher dropped the ball to tie up the board.
Anthony Volpe for the Yankees got the crowd roaring at the top of the fifth when he hit a homer into the cloudless sky. Volpe is only 21 years old and won the MLB Pipeline’s Hitting Prospect of the Year award in 2021. He gave New York the lead, 3-2.
Again, Boston had an immediate reaction in the bottom of the fifth. Adam Duvall sent his homer over the green monster and with little kids screaming and hollering in their own Red Sox jerseys. This tied the game 3-3.
Pitch Changes
Both teams didn’t keep the pitcher consistent, making frequent pitcher changes.
Yoendrys Gomez, Jimmy Cordero, Albert Abreu, Ron Marinaccio, Greg Weissert and Demarcus Evans pitched for the Yankees.
Tanner Houck, Chris Martin, Zack Kelly and Bryan Mata pitched for Boston.
The Yankees’ next game is at the Minnesota Twins on March 13 at 1:05 p.m.
